The GENERATION study follows the journey of young Australians, as they transition to life beyond school.

This landmark study of students from about 300 schools across the country aims to reflect the collective experience of young Australians – inside and outside school, while providing both participants and educators valuable insights into career interests and post-school plans.

This is the second year of the national study, which anticipates running for ten years in total. Following on from last year, we are interested in finding out what you have been doing at school and how your post school plans have changed, if any. Your participation is very important so that State and Federal Governments can improve services for young people all across Australia.

How do I get involved?
Your school participated in the first survey of GENERATION, which was conducted with Year 10 students from MAY – NOV 2022.
As you have consented to be recontacted for future waves, you have been invited to participate in Wave 2 of the study conducted with Year 11 students from AUG – OCT 2023.
What does it mean for me?
GENERATION is a chance to share your unique story – what you care about, what you're interested in, and what you hope for in the future.
You will be asked to voluntarily participate in a 30 minute online survey.
You have the right to withdraw from the study at any time, and have your information removed from further use.
